Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has become a hot topic within the past decade, particularly for students diagnosed with autistic-spectrum disorders.  As the various systems of ABA have been marketed and disseminated, some of the most basic tenets of ABA have been lost.  Rather than creating programs based upon student functioning, a given “system” is presented as “the way.”  Parents and professionals are unfortunately given very misleading pictures and hear such demonstrably erroneous statements as:

In Graduated Applied Behavior Analysis, such notions are challenged.  A system for tailoring programmingto student need is presented, based upon the original scientific methodology of ABA.  A training manual of basic concepts within ABA is also included, as well as a longitudinal study describing the success of a preschool that employs a graduated system of ABA.
